Dear members of the Chungcheong Mathematical Society,
The Chungcheong Mathematical Society was founded in 1987 as a center of mathematicians in Chungcheong province,
contributing to the research and development of mathematics and fostering mutual friendship among members. At present,
there are 35 mathematical related departments in the Chungcheong area, and about 500 members consisting of professors,
researchers, graduate students and mathematics teachers from mathematical research institutes and secondary schools.
Thanks to the efforts of our former chairmans and members, the Chungcheong Math Society has made great strides in many difficulties.
In particular, the Journal of the Chungcheong Mathematical Society published by the Society started publishing with the establishment of the Society,
and 33 volumes have been published this year.
Since its selection as a list of Korea Research Foundation in 2005, it publishes four times (February, May, August, and November)
academic journals in every year, and about 80 research papers are published. From 2017 onwards,
we will systematically submit journal articles online, handle all the processes from submission to review,
expedite the convenience of contributors, and provide quicker original services through the journal homepage.
I would like to ask your members to contribute their articles to the Chungcheng Mathematical Journal.
Regular plenary meetings and academic presentations are held every year rotating in Daejeon,
Chungnam and Chungbuk area. Since the covid 19, this year it will be held on online conference Friday, July 2.
I think it will be an opportunity to discuss the issues of the mathematical system and to plan fellowship through
mutual academic exchanges. We are planning to run various programs together with two conferences, so please join us a lot.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to President of the Mathematical Society of Korea,
Prof. Keum JongHae, for his interest in the "Activation of Local Society". We will cooperate hard to make sure.
In the Chungcheong Mathematics Society, it is necessary to improve the difficult environment such as changes in pulmonary function
and department of Chungcheong area universities, to fulfill social responsibilities as a mathematician through development of pure mathematics,
successful settlement of industrial mathematics and popularization of mathematics, I will do my best to make the whole mathematics education
in Korea a step forward as well as the development of the mathematical community.
Based on your active participation and advice, we will do our best to make our Chungcheong Mathematical Society proud of history and
tradition to take a step forward. I would like to ask you for your advice and cooperation.
I wish all members of Chungcheong Mathematical Society to have good academic progress and peace of mind at home.
Chair of the Chungcheong Mathematical Society
