Dear members of the Chungcheong Mathematical Society,

   It has been 30 years since the Chungcheong Mathematical Society was founded in 1987, contributing to the research and the development of mathematics and cultivating a fraternity among the members, mainly by mathematicians in the Chungcheong area. Currently, there are 35 universities and institutions in the Chungcheong area which are associated with mathematics. About 500 professors, researchers, graduate students, and mathematics teachers belong to the Chungcheong Mathematical Society.

   In spite of some challenging situations, our society has managed significant advancement thanks to the former presidents and members. The Journal of the Chungcheong Mathematical Society has been published consistently since the establishment of our society and we are now expecting to issue Volume 30 this year. Ever since the journal was approved as registered journal of Korea Research Foundation in 2005, four issues are published annually (Feb., May, Aug., and Nov.) and more than 80 articles are published by scholars not only from Korea but also from abroad. From 2017, submissions to the journal will be changed to an online submission system in order to make it convenient for authors to submit their works. In addition, the updates and original text service will be available through our journal web site.

   With the cooperation of the Korean Mathematical Society and other local Societies, our general meeting and a conference will be held every second weekend in June. Our staff members and I will put forth our utmost efforts to take a leap forward in order to better the Chungcheong Mathematical Society, supported by your active participation and advice. I look forward to your helpful advice and cooperation.
